
1570s costume made for use at the annual recreation of 16th century life at Kentwell Hall in Suffolk (www.kentwell.co.uk). Consisting of a suit of apparel (matching doublet and hose) of white silk satin embossed with a 'printed' design. This is carried out by hand using heated brass stamps and then further embellished with silver spangles and slashing. The suit is worn under a white leather jerkin of slashed lattice-work and a cloak of red/black changeable taffeta with gold embroidered trim.
